The Center for Employment Training -Cleveland (CET) is a non-profit, skills training and human development organization founded in June 1997 by a partnership representing employers, CAMP Inc., The Urban League of Greater Cleveland, Vocational Guidance Services, The City of Cleveland, Cuyahoga County, and The Greater Cleveland Growth Association. CET-Cleveland emerged as one of six recommendations of the Jobs and Workforce Initiative, a business-led, collaborative effort begun by the Greater Cleveland Growth Association, the Cleveland Foundation and the George Gund Foundation. CET-Cleveland, an independent replication site, is one of many CET training sites in operation across the country. CET provides skills training and job placement in positions that have the potential for upward economic mobility. In contrast to most of the CETs located in other cities, CET-Cleveland emerged as a result of gathering momentum in the business community clamoring for more skilled workers. CET operates from its site at the Glenville Enterprise Center located on E. 105th just North of St. Clair. Training is offered in four skill areas: Machine Tool Operations, Welding, Shipping and Receiving, and Printing and Graphics.
